Recent work

Workshop renewal finishied

Recent work

This is the new bent ball pipe. It is 13 cm long and medium to small in capacity. Nice clear piece of briar, vulcanite hand cut stem. No filter. My doubts were about the curve and the balance. While I prefer smaller pipes myself, it is not always good idea to make all pipes smaller but in this particular case this pipe is small and very comfortable in hand and in the mouth. The balance is good, having medium capacity this is good rotation pipe. Next growth of this shape will be with longer and bigger pipe like this. I am thinking about the possibility to make it with and without filter.

Second one pipe from the same block

Hello,

This pipe is the second one I have made from the same giant block.
The result is closer to this I want to make! There are the pictures, but I will wait for my customer comments.
Meanwhile you can see it. This is the second version / revision of one ordered pipe and I think it is better. The overall length is over 155 mm and the bowl is truly big. The old Grecian briar I use presents very nice grain and additionally I use contrast stain for this pipe. There are no cracks in the wood or in the mouthpiece material, it is fitted with 9mm teflon cone.

More pictures

This is 9mm pipe because of the request of the client and the mouthpiece was made from black acryl. The inlay is horn. The pipe passes the pipe cleaner with an ease from the mouthpiece to the bowl (without filter). I do not know what is the weight of this pipe but it is not light.

GbpBulgaria - pipe making projects: New pipe project

GbpBulgaria - pipe making projects: New pipe project

New pipe project

I have buy 5-6 Giant (really big) briar blocks few months ago. Nice blocks good grained old blocks. The primary reason was I need big blocks to make one big pipe for my special client.
After I receive these blocks I fall in thinking about what I must make with these big wooden blocks J. For one pipe – excessively big, for two, I am not sure …. After thinking, drawing and sanding I decide to make one big pipe for my client and one normal for me. The big pipe – straight grain, and the other one cross cut.

The result of the second one you can see here. It is a perfect smoker and is very comfortable. I am proud with itJ.
Now I start new project for making of 2 pipes form big block but twins. We will see what will happen!
